Shutter Cutter Blades

Lower yarn scissor blades, also known as under blades or stationary blades, are crucial components of yarn scissors specifically designed for the textile industry.  They work in conjunction with upper blades to precisely cut yarn during various textile processes.

  • Functionality: Lower blades remain stationary while upper blades slide against them during the cutting motion.  The opposing sharp edges work together to create a clean and precise cut on the yarn.
  • Material: They are typically made from high-quality, wear-resistant materials like high-carbon steel or tool steel to ensure they can withstand  the constant friction and pressure of cutting yarn.
  • Sharpness: Lower blades also need to maintain a sharp edge for optimal cutting performance.  However, since they are stationary and experience less wear than upper blades, they generally require less frequent sharpening.
  • Compatibility: Lower blades are designed to be compatible with specific upper blades and scissor models.  It's important to choose blades designed for your particular yarn scissors to ensure proper fit and function.
